Air pollution control

In 2022, we have reduced air pollution emissions by 64.7% compared to 2019.

THC complies with laws and regulations, maintains pollution control equipment, promotes the improvement of pollution sources, reduces pollutant emissions, and effectively controls air pollution to reduce operational risks and environmental impact.

Management Approach

Goal
Short-term goal:
  1. Prevent air pollution incidents and reduce pollutant emissions
  2. Set up the THC VOCs emission factor.
  3. Ensure no illegal pollution emission by efficiently controlling pollution prevention equipment.
Mid and Long-term:
  1. THC plan to instead the high pollution material by green production or low pollution material.
Management

Introduced the ISO 14001 environmental management system. This allows for the control of air pollution emissions of the entire plant through improvements based on external audits and self-examinations.

Action

  1. THC has imposed strict requirements on implementation and auditing. According to our stationary pollution source permit issued by the Environmental Protection Administration, THC has carried out regular inspection, maintenance, and records of raw materials, fuel, products, process equipment, control equipment, and monitoring facilities to ensure successful implementation of various improvements.
  2. Hired a professional environmental consultant with practical experience of environmental safety to conduct inventories of all plants, assist and guide relevant procedures of workplace safety, environmental sanitation, and implementation of environmental regulations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  3. To elevate employees' environmental awareness, THC holds environmental protection training for air pollution, water pollution, and waste. In 2022, a total of 124 people participated.
  4. Each plant had introduced the ISO 14001 environmental management system.

The primary air pollutants in the Company's plant are volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The packaging business’s VOCs are produced by inks and solvents used in label printing; The source of VOCs in the beverage business are chemicals used for cleaning and sterilizing process equipment. THC's production process complies with the laws and regulations, so there were no fines regarding air pollution in 2022.

To reduce the air pollutant in the production process, the Company introduced an Italian flexographic printing machine in 2019, it can reduce VOCs emissions by more than 95% compared with traditional printing production.
