Energy Management
In response to the global trend of energy conservation and carbon reduction, we are committed to enhancing energy management efficiency. We continuously promote energy-saving measures, including improving energy efficiency and introducing advanced energy-saving equipment. We aim to reduce energy intensity by 1% annually, ensuring effective reduction in energy consumption and carbon emissions from production. This commitment underscores our dedication to sustainable development within the industry.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory
In 2021, we initiated a greenhouse gas inventory and obtained an SGS verification statement. The inventory scope includes upstream raw material procurement, upstream raw material transport, downstream product transport, employee commuting, business travel, and waste disposal. In 2023, we expanded the inventory scope to include beverage operations and set 2023 as the baseline year.

In-house on-site blow molding strategy for GHG emission reduction benefits :
The greenhouse gas emission reduction benefits of the in-house on-site blow molding strategy are calculated based on basic assumptions: subtracting the transportation trips of PET bottles from the PET preform trips from the preform plant or Hon Chuan Taichung plant to customer factories. This estimation is reasonably calculated using the carbon emission coefficient for large trucks provided by the Environmental Protection Administration's Product Carbon Footprint Information Network. In total, it is estimated that the transportation emissions reduced in 2023 amount to 200.7 metric tons of CO2e.
In 2023, the greenhouse gas emissions intensity for Category 1 and Category 2 decreased by 1.6% compared to the previous year primarily due to improvements in production line efficiency and the benefits of energy-saving measures.
