Biodiversity Commitment Declaration

Hon Chuan recognizes the importance of ecosystems and biodiversity to sustainable development. To realize its vision of "Hon Chuan Sustainability, Building the Future Together," the Company released its Biodiversity Policy in November 2025. The policy applies to employees, suppliers, and value chain partners, aligning with the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and SDG 15: Life on Land.

Commitments and Execution
  • Operational Site Selection and Habitat Protection: All current operating sites in Taiwan are located within industrial zones. Future plants will prioritize existing industrial zones to avoid ecologically sensitive areas, while plant greening will support habitat creation.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Management: Hon Chuan implements air pollution control and wastewater management to ensure compliance and reduce potential ecological impacts

  • Value Chain Collaboration: Hon Chuan encourages suppliers and partners to comply with biodiversity-related regulations and jointly promote environmental protection

Afforestation Volunteer Activities

In 2021, the Company afforestation with Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Foundation to plant a total of 100 saplings for air purification and providing bird habitats at Qingshui sea land.

Plants: Rhaphiolepis umbellata, Coastal she-oak, Oleander, and Norfolk pine.

Ecological diversity survey and assessment

The Ecological Survey Camp invited employees and their families to observe insects, aquatic flora, and fauna, as well as learn survey methodologies under the guidance of experts from Tunghai University. Through diverse biodiversity experiences—such as tree climbing and stream-based amphibian and reptile exploration—the event deepened employee engagement in ecological conservation.

Park Adoption

We participated in “greening, air purification, and creating eco-city” by the Taichung City Government. Acquired 3 parks in Taichung city: Gonqi park in Dali district, Huilai park in Xitun district, and Chung-Hsing University surrounding.
