THC's Declaration on Biological Diversity

According to the 11th commitment of THC Sustainable Development Best Practice Principle, THC follows the environmental relative legislation and international standard to protect the environment appropriately. While, we maintain executive business activity and internal management, environmental sustainability is still one of the goals we would like to achieve. We continue to focus on climate change and the environmental sustainability topic and comprehend the importance if Biological Diversity and Ecological conservation. Thus, THC enacted the “THC Declaration on Biological Diversity”, and invited other suppliers to participate.

commitments and Execution
  • Prohibit operations or development in or near nationally designated biodiversity-important areas, and require suppliers to do the same.


  • Give priority to building new facilities in industrial zones or parks to ensure zero deforestation and habitat protection.


  • Ensure compliance by Hon Chuan and its suppliers with local biodiversity protection laws and mandatory standards.

Actively promoting environmental conservation measures

  • Ensure compliance of air and wastewater treatment with regulations, and promote source reduction and resource recycling
  • Reduce waste at the source, enhance recycling, and effectively minimize production waste
  • Implement carbon reduction projects through tree planting, and seek guidance from scholars and experts to conduct biodiversity surveys and advocacy activities

Afforestation Volunteer Activities

In 2021, the Company afforestation with Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Foundation to plant a total of 100 saplings for air purification and providing bird habitats at Qingshui sea land.

Plants: Rhaphiolepis umbellata, Coastal she-oak, Oleander, and Norfolk pine.

Ecological diversity survey and assessment

In 2024, an ecological survey and experience camp was held, inviting employees and their families to observe insects, aquatic plants and animals under the guidance
of experts from Tunghai University, and to learn survey methods. Activities such as tree climbing and amphibianreptile exploration in streams offered diverse experiences
in biodiversity and deepened employee engagement in ecological conservation.

Park Adoption

We participated in “greening, air purification, and creating eco-city” by the Taichung City Government. Acquired 3 parks in Taichung city: Gonqi park in Dali district, Huilai park in Xitun district, and Chung-Hsing University surrounding.
