Ecological diversity survey and assessment
In 2023, our company's main operational base is located in the Taichung Industrial Zone, adjacent to the larger river area of the Fazi Creek. The headwaters of Fazi Creek are in Daya District, Taichung City, primarily supplying irrigation water and drainage for adjacent farmland along the banks. It collects tributaries flowing southwards, including Dongda Creek at the boundary of the industrial zone. Dongda Creek gathers drainage from nearby commercial areas and industrial zones before flowing into Fazi Creek.
To gain firsthand knowledge of the local stream ecosystems, our company organized the first Ecology Survey Camp in June 2023. Hon Chuan employees and their families visited the Cultural and Environmental Education Center at Tunghai University. Professors from the Ecology and Environmental Research Center at Tunghai University led participants in ecological survey activities, observing insects, plants, aquatic animals on campus, and learning about ecological survey methods. They also visited the restoration project at Dongda Creek. This event was rich in knowledge and educational significance.
Hon Chuan continues to be actively involved and plans to organize more related activities to enhance participation and understanding of the local ecosystem. Our goal is to promote sustainable environmental practices.
